The modern revival of the Tour de France Automobile.

The Tour Auto is the modern revival of the Tour de France Automobile, the legendary road race first run in 1899 and contested in its sports-car form between 1951 and 1973. Organised today by Peter Auto, the 35th edition ran from Tuesday 5 to Saturday 9 May 2026 — five days on the road, following the public presentation of the cars at the Porte de Versailles in Paris on 3–4 May. More than 240 cars took part across the competition and regularity entries; the competition field of 123 took the official start at the Château de Courances and headed south to the finish in Biarritz, with 97 classified at the end.

The week was decided over 10 special stages (timed runs on closed-off public roads, rally-style) plus 4 circuit races (timed sessions on race tracks: Magny-Cours, Albi, Pau-Arnos and Nogaro), crossing France via Clermont-Ferrand, the Pont du Gard, Toulouse and Pau. Cars run either in Competition or in Regularity, with eligibility reserved for models that contested the original Tour de France Automobile between 1951 and 1973 — a roll call the E-Type richly earned in period. The reference category is VHC, whose winner is crowned overall winner of the Tour Auto.

KR Racing contested the 2026 Tour Auto in the No. 203 Jaguar E-Type 3.8 — the blue competition coupé registered WAP 66 — crewed by the team. Entered in the VHC class, Plateau 4 (group GTS12B), the car was classified 21st in the VHC competition standings after the five days, ten special stages and four circuit races between the capital and the Basque coast.
